Newtown Monthly Meeting Library Catalog

Now on the Web at

How to access the catalog:

LibraryThing is a website which we are now using to track the catalog of our library contents.  The LibraryThing website can be access from the Newtown Meeting website by going to the “Meeting Business” and then “Committee Web Pages” section and following the link to the catalog or you can access the LibraryThing site directly by going to http://www.librarything.com/catalog.php?view=newtownfriends

Features of the website:

Searchable – The catalog is fully searchable by title and author.

Amazon.com links – Many of the books listed in our catalog are available at Amazon.com.  The site provides links to the entries at Amazon.com where you can read reviews about a particular book or even purchase a copy for yourself.

Updates via RSS feed – You can subscribe to an RSS feed which will alert you to new items added to the catalog.  The RSS feed is available at http://www.librarything.com/rss/recent/newtownfriends   NOTE:  You must have an RSS reader to take advantage of this feature.

Browse similar catalogs – You can see other LibraryThing user’s catalogs.  The site shows other users that have similar collections.  Browsing their catalogs may show other books you might be interested in.

Current Status:

Only about 250 out of 750 of the items in our library are currently listed on LibraryThing.com  The update of our catalog continues with more items added each week.  Although the information at LibraryThing.com is not yet comprehensive, we think the site is already incredibly useful.
